The Dragon House on a Hill in Okinawa (Photos)

This is a place I've been meaning to investigate with my camera for quite awhile.  Driving by on the main road, it looks like there's a shrine or temple in the area but, the view is blocked by apartments.

So, I got off the main road and got a closer look at what was behind those apartments.  Somebody built this fancy house on a hill and has a dragon guarding the place.

    Sounds like a good idea, who is gonna burgle your home when there's a dragon protecting it.

    Yea, I want to find out more about the place but, nobody was home.

    From the first photo, I thought it was just part of the tree; now I can clearly see its a dragon after seeing the second photo. Its like a Okinawan scarecrow but more beautiful.

    The place looked abandonded but, well kept. Tempting. maybe next time I'll jump the fence!
