This photo was taken in the Village of Hedo, Okinawa, Japan.
Sunday December 23, 2012 was a special day for the folks up there.
Busloads of culture and history enthusiasts showed up and plenty of cameramen came, too.
The attraction was the reenactment of a ritual from the old Ryukyu Kingdom.
Sometimes, when you are at these cultural events, there is plenty of free time.
Traveling a long distance and waiting for things to get started isn't a lot of fun.
So, what many of the photographers do, is start shooting each other.
That's what the camera crowd did in Hedo this past weekend.
And, I got pictures to prove it.
I love this photo of photos being taken. The expressions are priceless.
ReplyDeleteNice to see you among us again on TPThursday. A great shot, btw.
ReplyDeleteEven,
ReplyDeleteHah, I got more than my 15 minutes of fame, that day. They were all shooting me !
Jackie and Joel,
ReplyDeleteThanks. You wouldn't believe how busy I've been. Thought today was Sunday. Happens a lot. That's how I always miss TPThursday !
They all have very nice cameras, no point-and-shoots. How many photographers were standing next to you taking pictures the other way?
ReplyDeleteLooks like everyone is having some fun - and nice that I can finally leave a comment on your blog.
ReplyDeleteMichelle,
ReplyDeleteLOL There was no one standing next to me. I was the subject for this, camera club gone wild. So, I opened my wide angle and used the external light meter to adjust, firing away !
Muza-chan and HikeBikeTravel, Thank you.
Great shot of you taking photos of those taking photos of you!
ReplyDeleteI spent about a year and a half on Okinawa and most of that time I owned a car so I got to tour parts of the island in my spare time. But I don't think I ever got that far north.
Dick Jordan
Dick,
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame, you missed Hedo. We bspent the night and had a great time with those friendly folks !
This just might be my favorite photo of the day. Very cool!
ReplyDeleteCathy,
ReplyDeleteWhen I told them, I'd have to start charging modeling fees, about 10 bucks, a shot, they became less enthusiastic !
Photographing the photographers. Very cool :)
ReplyDeleteSophie,
ReplyDeleteWe had a blast. Try it sometime in your travels. Happy New Year to you and yours !
