Full Moon Next Week

 

 

It's a good idea, to get prepared a few days ahead of the full moon and, do some practice shots.

A site called, timeanddate can tell you when the full moon will appear, wherever you may live.

Go over there and, type in your city and country and, you can, get all this stuff, free.

Last night, as I walked home, I noticed a huge, half moon, at street level.

But, I didn't feel like walking back to the office, to grab a camera.

About 4PM today, I noticed this half moon in the sky, again.

It reminded me, to check the schedule so, I'd be ready for this month's event.

See, the scientists don't call it a half moon; it's in the first quarter.

Not being a rocket scientist or, an astronomy dude, it doesn't look like a quarter moon, to me.

 I always try to shoot the full moon,  before and after the geniuses, say it's full.

1. The best images of the moon are taken at night, when it's dark outside.

2.  If the moon is going to be full JUL 20 at 07:56, it will probably be daytime.

3. Hang around outside, after midnight on JUL 19  and, I bet the moon will look full.

4. My wife, goes by the Chinese calendar and, it says the full moon will be on JUL 18th.

5. Play it safe, taking into account, the weather and, shoot the moon SUN/MON/TUES next week !

Four Hours from the Start

 

 

Remember, this boat capsized about half an hour into the race.

They, up-righted the sabani, bailed it out, replaced the sail and, kept on paddling.

Through thunderstorms, strong winds and, heavy rain, they moved right along.

At times, it looked as if, the sea would swallow the whole boat.

Once, they passed a buoy, near Tomari Port, Naha, the race was done.

From there, the escort boat, towed the sabani, to park at a beach overnight.

The girls from the sabani team, ride the safety boat, while the guys, get towed.

It's important, to drink lots of water, when doing this kind of event.

But, when they offered me some, I politely refused, to take any.

 After five hours, bouncing around at sea, I was pretty thirsty.

But, I didn't want to pop a kidney, in front of those girls and, I had to pee.

The first thing, they did after hitting the shore, was go running off to find a toilet.

The coast was clear of all women so, I went and pissed like a boss, in the ocean !

There's Always Something New

It was one of those sticky, hot days in June, when we decided to stop for lunch here.

No way, was I looking for a hot spring, to jump into; just some 5 star resort food.

 Not as impressed, with the food, as I was on my last visit, I shot this chandelier.

Then went outside, to see what else was new on Senaga Island.

 h white Corona beer signs, caught my attention and, got my curiosity going.

We're a long way from Mexico.  What's going on here ?

This is Corona Extra not, the regular kind.

It would be a good idea, to document, whatever they're doing in case it's something special.

Upon further investigation, I discovered, what this is all about.

Entrance to the event is absolutely free.  And, there's a real friendly gal, to wait on you.

She invited us, to have a few beers but, we told her, we were working and, couldn't stay.

Next time, I'm down that way, I think I'll give her a different answer.
