UNESCO Castle Nakagusuku-jo in Okinawa, Japan (Photo)

Just a peek through one of the doors at Nakagusuku Castle for today. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is centrally located on the Pacific Ocean side of Okinawa, Japan.

Not sure if it's the internet or gremlins gnawing away inside my computers today but, it feels like I'm back in the Stone Age the way these things are acting-up.

Hopefully, I'll be able to paste a link for TRAVEL PHOTO THURSDAY before everything comes crashing down around me !

  2. LadyE,
Thanks. This is one of the few times I allow myself to break the
    Rule of Thirds.

  5. As has been said, door shots are great. So intruiging and the mind can be lead to believe anything is awaiting....

  6. Jim,
Thanks for dropping in. Bet you'd have a blast getting lost inside this one with your camera!

  7. Doc,
If I remember correctly, we were both there the day I took this shot. The lousy weather in the sky was what prompted me to crop it out and zoom-in on this one!

Thank you. It'll be just like the Stone Age if I start throwin' rocks at the internet provider !

  13. Muza-chan,
Thanks. We don't have all the Temples and Shrines you shoot, down my way but, Castles, there's plenty here!

  14. Leigh,
Good eye. There's plenty to see beyond that door.

  15. Strux,
Thanks. Normally, I go for the Rule of Thirds but, on this shot I decided since it was symmetrical enough, I'd go for centering and use some depth of field to invite folks in.

  16. Cathy,
We have five UNESCO Castles here but, what many people don't know, there are probably 150 more in ruins or partially destroyed during the war. Okinawa is a castle buff's delight!
