Paper KIte Photo: The Largest Butterfly in Japan

The Paper Kite (Idea leuconoe) also known as a Rice Paper Butterfly, Wood or Tree Nymph is the largest butterfly in Japan.

They attain a wingspan of 2.5 to 3 inches ( 65-75mm ).

They eat plants of the dogbane and milkweed families which contain toxins that don't taste good to predators.
