Flower Photo: Yellow Angel Trumpet, The Dog Killing Brugmansia

Wow.  Just when I thought I'd run out of things to say about these Angel Trumpet Flowers, along comes this:

THE ANGEL TRUMPET PLANT IS POISONOUS TO HUMANS AS WELL AS ANIMALS

Somebody asked their nurseryman what would happen if their dog ate some of the plant and he said, "You will probably end up with a dead dog."  

Probably, you shouldn't feed them to your kids, either.  That's what I would have said.  Ya reckon ?

    A beautiful flower -- and it looks so harmless, too. The moral is, don't eat anything you're not sure of. There has recently been a case of severe poisoning and deaths in Australia, where a group of people ate wild mushrooms that looked like an edible variety.
