Cloud Therapy on a Hot Day in Kin Town
Summer's Here
Rainy season has officially ended in Okinawa, Japan and it's sweltering hot.
Trying to be thrifty, I'm holding-off, turning the air-conditioners on to keep cool.
Just a few fans in the office and at home have kept things comfortably cool.
Last night, I went out to see how the AC was working in a few bars.
It's much nicer, when someone else is footing the electric bill.
Along came some (what you might call) explosive people and, I enjoyed their company.
We had so much fun and, drank so much beer, I sort of floated home.
The result , was something like, I didn't go to work until around noon today.
A project I'm working on, kept me tied up at the office all day.
Every time, I stepped out the door for nicotine replacement purposes, I looked at the sky.
It would be criminal of me, not to capture some photos of today's skies.
So, between 4 and 5PM, I got up on the roof with a camera and tripod.
About 48 of the photos, taken today were made into this slideshow.
The processing of images for the task, I was supposed to be doing, can wait for another day.
It's time for me, to go check out the bars again and, make sure nobody's exploding.

Travel Photo: This Waterfall Was Just a Trickle Last Week
Located in Ginama, Kunigami, Okinawa, it wasn't much to see.
Some waterfalls, are so well concealed, you hear them before, seeing where they are located.
Rainy season has started and, that gives me an idea.
We need to go back up north and, see what this one looks like when it's roaring with water.

Travel Photo: Itoman Okinawa Dragonboat Races
Just back from a long day in the hot Okinawa sun, tonight I'll show you one photo.
Hundreds more will be processed and uploaded over the next few weeks.
For those who don't already know, these races signal the end of rainy season.
So, I'll be getting out of the office a lot more with the cameras.
There's no place I'd rather be than outdoors.
The smart thing, for me to do, would be go downtown and rehydrate.
More later.....

Ten Photos from the 2012 Itoman Okinawa Dragonboat Races
They weren't kidding about Itoman's Dragonboat Races ending rainy season in Okinawa.
Here is a photo showing what the skies looked like over Itoman Port this morning.
RyukyuRusty and I spent the night mingling with the locals.
My head hurts but, that sunshine sure cheered me up. Burp.
For now, I'll just post 10 photos here and a few on Facebook.
Sometimes when I go on these (ahem-ahum) assignments, I forget to tell the wife.
So, I won't be explaining these photos but, I'll tell you they are in the order they came out of my camera.
Some of the people in the boats may be looking to see if I took their photo.
They only have the Dragonboat Races in Itoman once a year.
And, not everybody gets to see their photo on the front page of the newspaper.
So, I try to shoot pictures of as many boat teams, in action, as I can.
While all the Dragonboat people are looking for their photos on my site...
I'll be trying to figure out what to tell the wife, when I get home.
Wonder if I could get away with, " I told you last week. You just never listen."
"I SAID I WAS GOING TO ITOMAN OVERNIGHT TO SEE IF THEY CAN REALLY MAKE RAINY SEASON END BY HOLDING DRAGONBOAT RACES."
By the way. Does anybody know how to get rid of the hiccups ?

Snap Your Fingers. Soon Okinawa's Rainy Season Will End
This photo was taken June 20, 2009 at a beach in Okinawa, Japan.
It's been raining all week and it looks like we're having a long wet season, this year.
The forecast for the next week is calling for more rain.
Maybe, I need to get my sister-in-law to snap her fingers at that beach, again.
It could be what's needed to make rainy season end.
NOTE TO TRAVELERS:
Today, I just added Marriott International to my list of advertisers.
They are now operating at three different locations in Okinawa, Japan.
