'Twas the Night After Christmas Full Moon

When the Full Moon Finally Came Out

 

 

Tricky weather, had me thinking, we wouldn't see the full moon this month.

It's one of the reasons, I usually try to shoot it, the day before and after the event, as well.

At this stage of my life, friends and family, know I, don't need any fancy gifts.

They don't have to spend a lot of money Christmas shopping, for me

Flip-flops, booze and food are the simple things, I don't mind receiving as gifts.

So, that's what, I usually get and, I couldn't be happier.

Evening clouds and scattered rain kept the moon invisible, for the past few nights.

When I stepped out of the office around 8PM last night to buy some coffee, it showed up. 

So, I grabbed the tripod, cameras, lenses and, shot the evasive sucker !

Lens: Sigma 50-500 with 1.4 converter for a focal length of 700MM

It Was One of Those Days

 

 

The weather had me tempted, to go out with the cameras but, I didn't.

Other priorities, kept me from straying more than a few minutes from the office.

Things like, getting the Santa suit ready,  article submissions and the birth of a child.

The only times, I got away from the computer monitors, I stepped out the door, for a minute.

It's good, to stand up, get out and relax the eyes, after you've been at a desk for awhile.

When I spotted the contrast between this roof and the blue skies, I had to grab a camera.

Santa gets a little busy this time of year and, I'll be out doing a gig tomorrow.

Wildlife Photo of the Day: Seahawk Landing on a Pole

Just back from a busy photography day, only one photo will be posted tonight.

Lots of territory was covered and a few hundred images were shot.

These birds leave Okinawa during the hottest months of the year.

So, we missed them from June, through September.

Not expecting to find any today, I left the big Sigma lens behind, dagnabbit !

This photo was taken with an 18-250mm lens, stretched all the way out.

Standby.  We'll get more of these magnificent critters later.
