Place to Munch for Lunch

It was just after a short visit to the hospital, the wife and daughter took me to lunch.

I was kinda bummed because the doctor said I have to continue taking medications.

She asked, how I was feeling but, didn't even pull my shorts down. Oh well.

This is a unique establishment. Conveyor belts. deliver food to the tables.

So, if you like complaining don't expect a waitress; bring your wife.

Orders are placed by pressing buttons on each table's computer.

Conveyor belts, do the delivery. You're supposed, to be honest, and take only your orders.

Above, is Maguro (AKA Tuna) and the card preceding, is in English as well as, Japanese. 

The next serving is Taco or, Octopus Sushi, in English.

Everything comes in orders of two and, sitting on a bed of rice.

At the tables, soy sauce, wasabi, and other dressings are free for the taking.

This one was a surprise. Meat on a sushi roll.

Actually, there were two sushi rolls, when the things rolled out. I ate before shooting.

It may have been Ginger Pork or, some sort of beef. I can't tell you. It got gobbled, too fast.

More Information

Items other than sushi are available, such as chicken nuggets, soup, salad, and fries.

If you go on weekends, each plate or order sells for 100 Japanese yen.

On weekdays servings only cost 90 yen.

Get One of These Fish Charts

 

That's right. There are 242 kinds of fish in the waters of Okinawa, Japan.

This wall chart has pictures and the names of the fish in Japanese, English and Okinawan.

The posters are sold at many touristy locations, throughout the Ryukyu Islands.

I've seen them go for anywhere from 1,000 to over 3,000 Yen. That's like ten to thirty bucks.

Get one HERE at a bargain. Tell the pretty gals, "A guy with a beard sent me."

The chart is really huge and comes all rolled up, wrapped in cellophane.

I tacked it to the wall and, to give you a better view, I chopped up and enlarged the photos.

That's way too many fish, to be hanging on my wall. Soon, I'll take it down.

For poor folks, who can't afford to buy the chart, go to Asia Pacific Fish I.D.

They have images of all the fish and, English as well as, Japanese.

There's even a guy in Tokyo, who gives you the same info for kosher and non-kosher dining.

Many Sushi Chefs Don't Speak English

Saving the links above on your smartphone, might help you at the sushi bar.

Get an old deck of cards and, with this poster, you could have lots more fun.

Cut the thing up, into small pieces, paste and laminate them to the cards and, you're all set.

Instead of pointing to the fish, inside some glass case, do what I'm gonna do.

Buy the chef something to drink.  They usually, go for sake or beer. 

Shuffle the deck of fish cards, pull one out and say, "Got any of this ?"

A couple of "firsts" happened to me today and, here's a GIF showing one of them.

Two of the loves in my life, brought me here, while we were waiting for something.

They happen to be a daughter and the wife, for those with curious minds.

The other "first" was an iPhone 7 plus that got added to my inventory.

The phone company had to download my android and, it would take awhile.

The new gadget is in my pocket and, the old one replaced the wife's antique flip phone.

Excuse me if, it seems like I'm in a hurry but, I have to get out of the office.

It seems, the gals, dropped me off and, I don't have the iPhone charger.

The idea, is to run home and, get this new gadget fired-up so, I can get back online.

Knowing, I'll have to teach the wife, her phone, while learning how to use mine, I'll be busy.

This photo was taken about an hour before opening time.

Once the doors open for business hours, the counter fills up quickly with customers.

Last week, after shooting photos at a restaurant, I stopped here on the way back to the office.

And, managed to weasel my way in for a few minutes.

Now, I'm thinking, I should go back without any cameras and grab a chair.

Looking at that big bottle of sake, got me thinking.

Maybe, I should give some a try with my dinner.
