Mad Mike's Review: Here's A Guru Contact to Fix Your PC FREE !

YA HU HU HU, I FOUND A FREE PC GURU !

There are way too many photography programs, files and other doohickeys installed on my poor old workhorse Windows PC's for me to just throw them out in the street.

Even though I overextended myself a tad buying that Apple machine I like the way it keeps running without any interference from the Microsoft thugs.

An Apple guy, or gal, comes in every night, cleans the MAC and updates stuff while I'm sleeping.

Windows thugs are always waiting 'til I'm trying to do something important and throw stuff in my PC's to slow them down.

Then, when I decide I want to shut down and go home they say stuff like

"DO NOT TURN OFF THE POWER WE ARE INSTALLING SOMETHING".

And I usually say something like, "______ YOU !   I PAID FOR THIS COMPUTER".

EMPEROR BILLY GATES CAN'T TELL ME WHEN I CAN AND CAN'T GO HOME.

I DON'T WORK FOR NO DICTATORS.

Anyway, to make a long story short, I'm going to keep using the PC's I bought from the Windows thugs until they melt down because I have so much invested in software I installed on them.

In the past I have had some malware bugs, had to buy programs to gobble up worms and even did a Mad Mike's Review on REGISTRY MECHANIC.

With Registry Mechanic, Spy Doctor, and McAfee I managed to keep things running.

All of a sudden, a new year rolls around and everybody wants their annual fees.

GROAN

Well, one of my PC's just locked up on me yesterday while I was trying to shut it down.

It was three hours SHUTTING DOWN and wouldn't quit.

So, I yanked out the power cord, flipped the laptop over, ripped out the battery and got it to shut off !

Have no fear.  I'm a patient sort of individual.

For the whole three hours the stupid thing wouldn't quit shutting down, I was on the MAC doing my research.

For every problem a Windows PC can have there are hundreds of people just like that

EMPEROR BILLY GATES

They want you to sign up, login, give your email address, try this free program so we can fix your Windows PC, install some more bugs and sell you the NEW IMPROVED VERSION OF OUR SPECIAL SUPER BUG CLEANER.

THEY WANT TO BE EMPEROR ENTREPRENEURS, TOO !

THE GURU TO CONTACT AT YAHOO ANSWERS:

GREGG DESELMS

Now, the problem I linked you to was for Windows is getting stuck at "Shutting Down" screen.

But, read the whole article and you'll find FREE FIXES FOR ALL KINDS OF STUFF.

What I did was tune up both my PCs with the things I found there and they're screaming, now.

Read  Gregg's profile and email him if you'd like.

The best kind of Guru to contact is one that's free.

This Guru gets a five star Mad Mike's Review from me !

Case Logic Camera Holster TBC-308. Mad Mike's Review

It took awhile getting used to calling the Case Logic TBC-308 a camera holster, for me.
It just doesn't look like my old Case Logic Holster.  That one looked like a holster.
Here are some of the things I carry when I go out on a photography shoot and don't want to use my backpack.  From left to right and top to bottom, there's a shutter cable release, circular polarizing filter, air bulb and brush for lenses, lens cleaning fluid, Photographer's log, model releases in English and Japanese, ink pen (all stuffed in a plastic sandwich bag) and a case for extra SD cards.

All that stuff gets packed into to zippered pocket on the outside of the holster.  There's room for more.

Like, if you were a lady I suppose lipstick, makeup and mirrors would fit in there, too.

There's the Pentax with an 18-250mm zoom attached and it's hanging from an adjustable cradle.  That keeps your lens from bouncing around on the bottom of the bag and allows me to stuff the lens cap along with lens tissues and other goodies into the little zippered pocket inside the holster's cover.
The way I figure there's no sense calling it a holster, if you can't quickdraw the camera and shoot it.

So, that's what I do.

It comes with an adjustable shoulder strap and there's a beltloop you can use whenever you're doing some serious climbing, worried about a purse-snatcher, or if you happen to be a klutz (like I am, sometimes) and afraid your camera will fall out of the bag.

Here's something I just discovered yesterday when I was coming out of a cave in Okinawa, Japan.

There is my camera mounted on a tripod.  The shutter cable release, still plugged in and everything is ready to fire (if I run across a cave woman, or something) and I just pulled the holster over everything to protect it in case I tripped and fell.  Stuff happens.  Ya know ?

Case Logic Camera Holsters come with a 25 year warranty.
The TBC-308 is lightweight nylon, only weighs 340g or 12oz.
If you're not into sholder-straps or belt-loops, you can just use the handle and call it a camera case !

DISCLOSURE: I own this puppy and like it (Five Star Rating) but nobody paid me to say that.

Would I recommend Case Logic Camera Holsters to my friends ?  Yup !

Photo Essay: Look Out World RyukyuMike's Doin Stuff with iMac !

It ain't been a full 24 hours, yet but, I just have to show everybody this nifty machine I bought yesterday.

It came in this cardboard box with a convenient carrying handle so, I guess you could consider it a laptop if you have a really big lap.  It isn't all that heavy.
After I pulled it out of the box and set it on the bar, I found all these goodies inside.  I just grabbed the stuff I needed to get the thing running and read part of one book so I could get online quick.

Maybe, someday I'll check and see what else I might need to know and maybe, I won't.  Always busy...
Within 10 minutes (no kidding) the iMac was up and running.  Just plug in the power cord and flip the switches on the mouse, keyboard and the back of the machine and it lights up blasts an Apple Tune, or something at you.  Then you're in business. Hah, I didn't even get a guru to help me !
There are some symbols and language I have to learn because Windows and Mac ain't the same but, I think the Apple folks are going to make my life easier.  They put the keyboard in clear plastic wrap so, when I spill coffee or drop a lit cigarette on it I can probably do something before the "S" key melts, like it did on my last brand new computer.  REF: RANT: PLASTIC TYPING KEYS

I like the big stand this computer sets on.  It's just a pain hauling those cement blocks into the bar whenever it's too hot for flipflops under my Windows laptops.  REF: REDNECK COOLING TOWER

The Apple guys gave me enough stuff to build a dehumidifier locker for my cameras, too.  They even included two bags of desiccant, free.  I'll be storing all my cameras and lenses there for awhile.

It's a fairly good-sized box.  I just hope the missus doesn't get any ideas about making a suitcase out of it.

Now, you know, I don't rush into doing Mad Mike's Reviews on anything.  So, I'll be doin lots of stuff on this iMac before I'm ready to compare it with those two Windows guys.

So far, I did like the way iMac was easy to set up and I love the box it came in !

The Classic Swiss Army Knife. A Mad Mike's Product Review

Here is a gadget carried in my pocket, most of the time, attached to a keychain.  I've been using these little Swiss Army Knives for over ten years.  I'll start right off telling you this is one product that gets a FIVE STAR RATING from RyukyuMike.  That way, if you have a queasy stomach you won't have to read the whole review and look at all the photos.  Just go to the Amazon Store and buy one.

To give you a sense of scale here's what the contraption looks like attached to my keychain.

That little cow-bell up there came all the way from Switzerland, too. My Huskies respond to it.

This Swiss Army Knife is advertised as having seven tools.  Everybody knows about the knife and scissors, some of the other gadgets might need explaining.  I pulled out the toothpick so you can see it.

This photo depicts three more tools, all combined into one piece of hardened steel.  That's right !
What you're looking at is a fingernail file, a flat tip screwdriver and a screwdriver that works on phillips-head screws, too.  That's why it's tapered.  I wouldn't recommend using it to try and change the muffler on your car, or anything like that but, the screwdriver does work on an amazing amount of little gadgets.

No need to call AAA to open the battery box on  Energizer Bunnies with one of these tools handy.

There has been an incredible amount of Search Engine traffic where people have been coming to my blog with "Can a tick get into a bellybutton"?  and "How do I remove a tick from a bellybutton"?

There was a model's fingers lined up for this part of the photo shoot but, she got a queasy stomach and I told her that's OK.  I still like Ryukyu Rusty's Gal.  She just missed out on a chance to be a member of my Swiss Army, if I ever decide to start one up.  It's not for everybody, you know.

If you have a Swiss Army Pocket Knife and a tick crawls into your bellybutton, here's all you need to do.  Take the tweezers, grab ahold of the little sucker and pull him out.  It's easy.

Doctors, may not approve of Ryukyu Mike's methods but, this is the way I do it when there's none around.

There would have been a few more photos showing how I torch the tick (with a lighter) while holding it with the tweezers.  That's to make sure they don't get on my dogs, or anyone else.  But, I was in a hurry to get two more ticks, I'd been playing host to,  when the first one escaped !

Back to the Swiss Army knife.  The scissors and knife blade are the tools I use the most.  I use them to open snailmail, medicine bottles, "New Improved" absolutely idiotic-any-kind-of-containers or packaging from aspirin bottles to DVDs to freakin-impossible-to-open-with-your-bare-hands packages of frozen food.

The Swiss Army knife will never let you down.  I love it.
