Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) on the Okukubi River

When they headed up the river, they were all sitting on the boards.

It was sort of like they were kayaking upstream.

Close to 6PM, as I was heading back to town, they came paddling back down the river.

This series of images was captured at f/11  1/100   ISO 100 with 25mm of lens. 

It looks like, I may have to try one of those SUP's one of these days.

Butterfly Images: Peacock Pansy

Tatehamodoki (タテハモドキ) in Japan

Walk along the banks of the river and these orange butterflies seem to be everywhere.

 

 

 They are a dull brown color when the wings are closed.

With opened wings, during wet season, they appear to have eye spots staring at you.

The Latin name for this species is Junonia almana.

They may be found throughout Southeast Asia, India and Japan.

The Shisa (Liondogs) of Kin Bridge

Heading north on HWY329 this shisa is on the left side of the road.

Directly across the street sits the other shisa facing towards the west.

 On the far side of the bridge the 3d shisa is facing towards the east.

The 4th shisa, should be here but, it seems to have disappeared.

Let's hope somebody didn't take it home to use as a lawn ornament !

Drop on in this little shop located in Umikaji Terrace and check it out.

Not really much of a lady's handbag sorta dude, I was more interested in the tools. 

They probably have enough hardware hanging on that wall, to shoe horses.

And, if you got a flat tire on your Volkswagen, I bet they could fix that, too !

Travelers can come by here and choose backpacks or handbags.

Everything is handmade out of some pretty durabale looking materials.

Why would anyone want to buy some Madamoiselle Fancy Pants Handbag at a shopping mall ?

At this one man operation, you could save a lot of coins.

And, shake the hand of the dude who did all the designing and sweating !
