Shades of Eisa at Night

Call It a Cat's Eye View

 

 

Late last night, in Kin Town, they made a thunderous sound with the drums.

The animation above is, Namizato's Eisa group and, I hope I shot them all.

Staying out past midnight, I caught a few more Eisa teams performing.

This morning, I had to be up early, for travel to the south of the island so, went home at 1AM.

6 Early Evening Photos from a Mangrove Forest

As the Sun Dips Down Below the Mountains

 

 

The Golden hour for photography happens just after sunrise and, an hour before the sun sets.

These photos were taken between 5-6PM while taking evening strolls over this past week.

The sun, setting low in the western sky, gives the scenery a golden glow.

 As long as the wind, doesn't stir things up, reflection photography begs to be shot.

 Twice a day the tide goes out, exposing the mangrove roots.

Deep in the forest, it's time to do some wide angle photography; everything is quiet and still.

A close up shot, reveals the rough texture of the trees in these forests.

Backing off with the lens, a parting shot was taken as the light faded. 

The mangrove forest gets dark in a hurry, after the sun sets.

No telling, what you might bump into if, you get stuck walking around down there after dark !

Evenings are Full of the Sound Drums in Okinawa, Japan (Photo)

       This is the time of year in Okinawa where the sound of drums can be heard every evening.

Obon season is just around the corner and rehersals for Eisa Dancers take place weeks in advance, every night from 7PM until close to midnight. Enjoy the sound of the drums, they are speaking to the spirits!
