Jack Daniels Wood Chips and Smoked Meat

Meat smoking over Jack Daniels wood chips

Torn from My Work Again

This morning a friend, living north of me, posted this on Facebook.

Joking with him, I asked what time it would be ready?

It looked like a meal, worth taking a taxi ride, to consume. But, he may have been joking.

Next thing I knew, he said "I'll come by at 2 PM and, pick you up. So, I'm outta here.

Help Wanted

Yesterday's blog post, about a Reuben Sandwich, went kind of wild.

Thousands of people liked it and, are even asking questions about the place.

Reuben Sandwich and side orders

There aren't enough hours in a day, for me to assist everybody.

If, they would just look at Google Maps, directions, menus and images, can be found there.

In less than 24 hours, this Facebook post of the sandwich got over 8,000 views!

Now, I have to hurry and get ready, to consume some smoked meat.

My friend will arrive shortly.

Help Wanted: Identify This Golden Beetle

Thousands of Thumbnails Were Checked

This bug just defies identification.

In case you have never spent a day, squinting at bugs on a computer monitor, I'll tell you.

It's a royal pain in the butt !

Some clues: This character is located in Okinawa, Japan.

There are a few of them, eating, what look like sweet potato leaves.

When the light hits them a certain way, there's a greenish tint to the gold color.

For awhile, I thought it couldn't get any more exciting than this.

The insect, started making some cool hand motions.

Then, it flapped its gold wings so, we could get a peek inside.

That might give a scientist some clue as to what the proper ID would be.

If somebody gets me the scientific name for this bug, here's what I'll do.

Give me your email address and, you can have any or, all of the photos above.

Or, mail me a specimen bottle.

Maybe, I can capture one of them and, send it to you !

Travel Photo: Could Use Some Help--Need ID on Gal

Getting Up There in Age

Not that I'm getting old or, anything like that.

Sometimes, I just forget little things.

Like, I promised this gal, I'd send her a photo if she consented to me taking her picture.

Now, I made a nice print and can't remember her name or, address.

They have some government people who watch Facebook all the time.  Don't they ?

I reckon, they might know who she is.

Or, do you think they are too busy watching ships go through the Panama Canal ?

Anyway, I'll post this over on Facebook and see what my friends can do.

Give me a holler, anytime, if you can ID her.  OK ?

Find an American Girl in Japan (Photo)

This is Taylor Anderson, an American girl from North Carolina.  She teaches in Japan.

She was in the area of the earthquake and tsunami.

Her father and I have email contact with each other.

No one has heard from her or seen her in the past week.

The town of Ishinomaki was hit hard by the disaster but, reports indicate, the area she would have been traveling through as the tsunami hit was relatively unharmed.

I can tell you, having a daughter missing for over a week is pure torture that no parent should ever have to experience.

The Embassies of Japan and the USA are busy with lots of things right now, I know.

Everyone is busy.  I just want to help the Andersons find their daughter.

An American girl in Japan stands out in the crowd.  So, if you can spare five minutes, help me circulate this photo and find Taylor Anderson.

More detailed information is available at MATADOR PULSE and I may be reached through my Facebook page Mike's Ryukyu Gallery. Thank you for your support.

This link, if you scroll down, gives the best updates JAPAN PERSON FINDER with information from friends and coworkers searching, on the ground, for Taylor Anderson. There is still hope!
