Help Identify A Flowering Shrub

Sometimes, I like to set a flower in front of a black background for a portrait.

It' not a work of art, anyone would be willing to buy but, it sure makes things stand out.

Indoors, you don't have to worry about the wind moving things around.

All my expert resources, couldn't find a name for this plant or flower.

Those little white star-shaped flowers are smaller than a thumbnail.

If someone can identify this plant, I could give them a photo of it or, something even better.

The only place, I have ever seen a plant like this is a secret location, near my office.

 If somebody living around here ID's the thing for me, I could show them, where it's located.

Another reason, I like to shoot flowers indoors, is for privacy.

We wouldn't want anybody, thinking that, me and my Swiss Army knife swiped the thing !

This bug just defies identification.

In case you have never spent a day, squinting at bugs on a computer monitor, I'll tell you.

It's a royal pain in the butt !

Some clues: This character is located in Okinawa, Japan.

There are a few of them, eating, what look like sweet potato leaves.

When the light hits them a certain way, there's a greenish tint to the gold color.

For awhile, I thought it couldn't get any more exciting than this.

The insect, started making some cool hand motions.

Then, it flapped its gold wings so, we could get a peek inside.

That might give a scientist some clue as to what the proper ID would be.

If somebody gets me the scientific name for this bug, here's what I'll do.

Photo: Croton Plants Come in All Shapes and Sizes

Today, somewhere on the Motobu Peninsula we came across these characters.

Dozens of photos were taken, from both sides of a road running, alongside a river bank.

This photo I'm posting just to give an idea of the sizes, shapes and colors they come in.

In English they are called Croton Plants.  Codiaeum varigatum would be the scientific name.

There are plenty more I'll be posting if things ever slow down around here.

Weird White Long-haired Lizard-looking Creature (Photos)

Standing on a bridge in Okinawa, Japan as the sun was setting last night, I spotted this thing that appeared to be a feather from one of the white egrets we have flying around here.

          It caught my attention because when the wind stopped blowing, it didn't stop moving.

        Too get a better look, I unholstered my camera and zoomed-in on it.  It looked back at me.

Feathers don't have eyes.  So, I climbed down off the bridge and got as close as I could without falling in the river.  There's no telling what this creature might be.  All I know for sure is it isn't a feather.  It might be a bug, a lizard or some kind of ancient mutated minature dragon and I ain't telling anybody where it lives until some scientist tells me the scientific name of the creature.

If they don't have a name for this critter, I'll name it for them.  It'll be something like:

WIERD WHITE LONG-HAIRED LIZARD-LOOKING ANCIENT MINATURE DRAGONASARUS ryukyumikusjaponicus, or something like that.  You ever seen one ?
