The full moon was hidden from us this month and that was a little disappointing.

We can't let the rainstorms ruin our whole month. So here's what we've been doing.

Call it Back Roads Waterfall Photography.

It's Therapeutic

We're not talking about some famous falls like Niagara in the USA.

Not even visiting the famous waterfalls in Okinawa.

During the rainy season, some waterfalls, just pop-up out of nowhere.

They may not be bubbling, babbling, and spitting out water in the jungles all year long.

In the hills of Kunigami, there are falls you will hear before you can see them.

Not as famous as all those tourist attractions waterfalls sound good to me.

Here, you can enjoy the exhilarating, breathtaking, calming, splashing outdoors nature.

Call it whatever you like, it's soothing to me and, an important part of Okinawa's rainy season.

Getting Lost in the Hills of Kunigami

It's Getting to Be a Regular Routine

 

 

 About once a month the good Doc and I, get on these winding, one lane roads.

There are so many twists and turns, you would think, it was part of West Virginia.

And, there are plenty of intersections, to help you get confused, along the way.

Sometimes, I pull out the smart-phone, to take a shot with Google Translate.

But, there are places, up in the mountains, where the gadget, won't work.

So, what I wind up doing is, shoot signs, with a real camera.

Then whenever, I get home, I can get my wife translator, to tell me where I've been !

Travel Photo: This Waterfall Was Just a Trickle Last Week

Located in Ginama, Kunigami, Okinawa, it wasn't much to see.

Some waterfalls, are so well concealed, you hear them before, seeing where they are located.

Rainy season has started and, that gives me an idea.

We need to go back up north and, see what this one looks like when it's roaring with water.

This photo was taken in Kunigami, Okinawa, Japan about this time last year.

Today, I spent most of the day at home with one of those winter colds.

Lots of liquids, medicines and soup were consumed and, I'm feeling better.

But, my brain didn't feel like cooperating on the blog tonight.

So, I went and looked at the old photo files and this one inspired me to write.

No matter where you may travel on this planet, a stream like this might be found.

It would be a good idea to find one and enjoy the atmosphere.

Take a picture and save it, too. That's just in case you catch a wicked cold.

It will make you feel better, if you think like me.

Anything, is better than sitting at home, taking medicines and eating chicken soup ! 

Butterfly in Blossom a Thursday Photo

Even on a cloudy day with an 80% chance of rain predicted you can find something on the mountains of Kunigami Okinawa, Japan to take a photo of in the wild.

After spending three days this week in the city of Naha it felt great getting out of town and up into the hills along the northwest coast.

Some crickets, a snake, a spider and this butterfly landing on a pink blossom were my targets today and I figured LadyE would probably like this shot best for her series of worldwide travel photography titled

Bridge to Nowhere in Kunigami Okinawa (Travel Photo Thursday)

Here is a wooden bridge located in the mountains of the Kunigami area of Okinawa. This place is special to me so, the only way you'll find it would be to have me show you the location.

I'm not sure how we'd manage, though. I hate driving and it's about a three day walk from my house. We could make arrangements to go there, together. I know the way.

Can you drive a car blindfolded ?
