Funny Translations: The Cat May Fly Out

Looking for Something New to Drink?

With things like Coronavirus flying around the world, it would be wise to stay healthy.

It's probably a good idea to check your vitamin C levels once in a while.

Not sure how you're supposed to do that, I walked down the street to a vending machine.

cat, corona-virus, humor, drink, Okinawa, BinVita, vitamin C

It was easy enough for me to figure out BinVita was some sort of vitamin C drink.

Before opening the bottle I decided to scan the ingredients with Google Translate on my iPhone.

Here's what I learned:

Ingredients: fruit dextrose liquid sugar / carbonic acid, acidulant, flavor, vitamin C, carotene pigment,

nicotinamide, calcium pantothenate, vitamin B2, vitamin B, Vitamin Bs, Vitamin B12.

Contents: 500ml ● Shelf Life: Described on the bottom side of the cap.

Storage Method: Store at room temperature away from direct sunlight.

Manufacturer: Okinawa Botlers Co., Ltd. 163 Izumi Nutrition Facts Labeled in Izumi,

Kunigami-Cho,

 Motobu-Cho, Okinawa Prefecture.

And A Word of Caution:

Leave it at room temperature after drinking, it may damage your own equipment or

the cat may fly out.

Animation -- Cat in the Rock Garden

white cat, plants, rocks, garden, gif

 Photographing Lizards Didn't Happen

The plan today was, to get some shots of lizards and, they're out there somewhere.

The tripod wad set up and, I was patiently waiting for one of my little lizard friends to show up.

Things were looking sort of grim and, I was about to call it a day.

Luckily, this critter came along and entertained me for a few hundred photos.

Seven images were selected to create this GIF and, more will be completed later.

Initially, I had thought of telling you, the similarities between me and that cat.

Like make a list of, ten things but, I decided against doing it, for a few good reasons.

See, we both have almost pure white fur and, the same color eyes.

Hair grows out of our ears and whiskers stick out around our noses.

Actually, that cat and I, hang around the Buddhist temple sometimes.

But, neither of us go there to pray. Then, I ran out of things to say.

It's dark outside now and, time for me to lock up the office.

Do you suppose that cat, drinks beer, too ?

Things to Do on a Moon Shoot

The Moon Isn't the Only Thing Out There

As long as the skies stay clear and, rain doesn't fall, I'm out there for three nights.

If you're lucky, the moon can be photographed under ideal conditions at least once or, twice.

It's a good idea to start a few hours before sunset and scout out several positions.

black cat, wall
As I was heading towards a ridge-line, overlooking the east coast, I spotted this cat.

You never know, when a photo of a black cat, might come in handy.

So, I shot the thing and, did some patching-up with Adobe Elements.

The rascal was missing lots of fur, like it had been in a cat fight or, something.

This one , reminded me of the cat in a folklore story. It just stared at me.

And, coincidentally it was on a wall outside a cemetery.

river, ocean

The cat sort of  gave me the creeps so, I walked around the cemetery instead of through it.

That's how, I came upon this scene and, decided to wait for moonrise, somewhere nearby.

This was my third night, in a row, chasing the full moon.

The Okukubi River, flows into the sea in the center of this image.

It would be nice, if the moon appeared somewhere near the center of the frame, too.

bridge, Ikei and Miyagi Islands

The sky turned awful colors, a few times and, it even rained for a little while.

To keep myself occupied, I shot the red bridge, way out in the distance.

Earlier in the day we crossed that bridge, connecting Miyagi and Ikei Islands.

moonrise, river, ocean
When the moon, finally rose above the clouded horizon, I had to run about 10 meters.

That way it came close to being centered on the mouth of the river.

A few quick clicks of the shutter, using the timer and a tripod and, I was out of there.

red sky

On the way back into town, I noticed these clouds being hit by the setting sun.

In a hurry, I put everything back in shooting mode to nab this shot.

You never know, when somebody might need an image of red clouds.

For Anyone Who Read All of the Above

Something, I thought would be nice to pass along, even if it ain't about photography.

There are really only 3 kinds of people in this world.

There are those who understand math and, those who don't.

This Cool Cat Showed Up on the Trail So I Shot a GIF of It

cat with blue eyes

Not the Sort of Creature You See Everyday

There is probably some fancy name for this mongrel-looking cat.

It was spotted along the edge of a field as I was heading back to town today.

There was a 300mm lens on the camera.

The cat filled the frame, faster than I would have liked it to, composition wise.

About a dozen images were made before the cat turned and ran.

If anybody is missing a cat like this, I know where to find it again.

Er, do you think it's some kind of wild thing ?

Monday Should Be a Day for Rest (Image)

cat sleeping on wall

This cat, sleeping on a wall reminded me of that character Garfield.

Years ago, I agreed with him and hated Mondays.

Things are different, nowadays.  I can hardly wait for the weekends to be over.

Climbing hills, shooting festivals and trying to keep the bars in business can wear a dude out.

So, I like to take it easy on Mondays; do as little work as possible.

Tuesday, is the first real working day, of the week, for me !

Ten Photos From The 2012 Okinawa Azalea Festival

The hills in northern Okinawa, Japan for the 2012 Azalea Festival came to life yesterday.

There was a marching band that came from far away to entertain the crowds.

So, while they were getting ready to play,  I sneaked off to shoot some flowers.

There are lots of hills to climb with azaleas sprouting all over them.

Traveling in the People Avoidance Mode was the best way to shoot the azaleas.

So, that's what I did.

A few times, it looked like a storm was going to come from offshore but, it never happened.

Looking at all the unopened flower buds, I'd say, there will be a few more weeks of Azaleas.

It's real easy to spend three, or four hours walking the hills.

And, if you get tired, there are plenty of places, along the way, to take a break.

Going up and down all those hills is great exercise but, it can wear you out.

Like, I even met this lady, dragging her cat along on a leash.
SHE WAS HOT !
The cat, I mean.
So, she laid down and took a catnap.

When I had my fill of Azaleas, I went and joined the crowd.
Some Okinawa dance and sanshin music in a festival tent was where I ended the day.
The 2012 Okinawa Azalea Festival was fun but, it wasn't like that time I ran into the
PRETTY GIRL WITH AN ALIEN

Maybe, I'll go back to take photos of the azaleas next week, again !

Cat and Dogs (Photo) "Nice to Meet You"

Here's a photo of the highly intelligent Maltese mutt I ranted about a few days ago.

He had never seen a cat before. So, he went over to investigate.

The poor cat held its paw in the "Nice to meet you" mode with the Pug pup serving as his backup while the little investigator was busy sniffing the leash. I probably should have sent him to a Police Academy.

Photo taken in Okinawa with a Pentax K10D 18-250mm Lens.
