They Won't Get Photos Like This

Once about 10 years ago I got in an embarrassing situation.

The granddaughter and I took the huskies for a walk and, I let one of them run loose.

It's nice to volunteer for stuff, I heard so, that's what I was doing.

Helping out the feral cat control people, you might say.

If you turn two Siberian Huskies loose, at the same time, they'll be gone all day.

But, when you keep one on a leash, the one you let go will come back, after awhile.

Well, there must not have been any stray cats so, the dog found something else to do.

He got hooked up with a girlfriend somehow.

The granddaughter spotted them before I did and asked what they were doing.

Groan.

Grandpas aren't supposed to get stuck teaching little girls stuff like that.

Where are the daughter and son-in-law when you really need them ?

Think Quickly About How to Get Out of the Situation

When that girl asks her grandpa a question, she won't quit until she gets an answer.

She wanted to know what the dogs were doing, right now !

My face was probably turning red, under my beard.

The best way to respond, quickly, would be to use English, which she didn't understand.

So, I said, um, um, um, "That's how dogs fax each other."

If she asked me why, I probably would have said, "I don't know and, asked her.....

"What do I look like, some kind of veterinarian?"

Luckily, there were no more questions and, I figured I handled the problem correctly.

That was, until we got back to the house.

The little girl told grandma (in Japanese), she saw the dogs making love !

The Kids Butterfly Organization

They had a look at my website and are interested in some images.

That's a nice website, they have and,  it's a great way to teach children about nature.

But, I will only send them photos with one butterfly in the scene, at a time.

If they need images like this one, I don't want to be the one doing the explaining.

I think, even adults, will enjoy it.

Christmas Surprises: Santa in Okinawa, Japan 2013

Santa went to Kanna in Ginoza, Okinawa, Japan today.

Over a hundred children were surprised, to see him show up.

There were a few surprises for Santa, too.

Credit for the photography and video go to the Map It Okinawa Dude.

The Christmas Dude has other stuff, keeping him occupied and is too busy, to blog.

Enjoy the YouTube Video and see how well behaved these children acted.

It was a big surprise, to Santa Claus.

The biggest surprise of all was that boy, sitting with Santa, in the photo.

He either, didn't know or, wouldn't let on, to the rest of the students.

He was sitting on his Grandpa's lap !

She Gets Away With Murder This Girl (Photos)

This girl comes into my Bar on a Saturday night and messes with my beard

Gets a red rubberband, twists it real tight and tries to make a ponytail out of the thing

Then laughs and sings karaoke until the wee hours of the morning

She gets away with murder only because Grandpa loves her and she knows it

Anybody else tries messin' with me like that

They'll be lookin' for their teeth !

Sunday's Silly Sign (Photo)

A Silly Sign Photo a week may be more than I can handle. Sunday comes around a lot faster than I thought it would. As a matter of fact, it's Monday in Japan, already.

Here is a photo taken by my Nephew, Jarod Sampson. He's a college Dude back in the USA somewhere. Virginia, I think.

Anyhow, I gave him a quick class on the PANASONIC DMC-FZ50 one night and turned him loose walking around Kin Village in Okinawa, Japan while I was tending to other things, like my own bar.

It's kinda cool seeing what photos someone else finds to shoot around here. I'd have never thought of taking this shot. I haven't been a college Dude in awhile, either.

I know, a sign like this may offend some women. Hot Beer and Ugly Women, huh ?

Who knows?  It may be good for that other bar's business. I'll have to go check it out sometime.

If it works, maybe, I'll have someone paint a sign on My Place and draw a big crowd to my bar.
I could have a silly sign that says "Cold Beer and  One Hot Grandpa".  Think it'd work ?

What's Wrong With That Picture? (Photo) Wrong Grandpa, Hah!

There is something terribly wrong going on back in the USA.  So, I'm going to use this photo and some of my Grandfatherly wisdom to try and demonstrate how things like getting the wrong Grandchild can happen. I'll have a bunch of questions to ask, as well. I don't want to know what's wrong with this picture.

I want to know what's wrong with the picture in Cleveland Ohio, USA.

A Grandpa went to pick up his 3 year old Grandson at a school for little people (Daycare Center, I guess you'd call it) and didn't realize it was the wrong kid until he got home. What?

This is a true story. It happened in Ohio. I'll give you a REFERENCE FROM ABC NEWS in ARIZONA because I'm pretty sure the two locations are far enough apart to keep them from throwing rocks at each other.

First, my Grandfatherly advice would be all Grandpa's should know who their Grandkids are. And Grandkids should probably be taught to recognize their Grandparents. This can be tricky, sometimes.

Like, in my photo above. It's pretty hard to find your Grandson at a school function where everybody looks the same. But, if you shave the boy's head, he'll be easier for Grandpa to spot.
The son-in-law and I just have to make sure the other parents don't all get the same idea. Hah !

There are a few other tricks up my sleeve, but, you won't be hearing about them today.

It's been a long time since I've visited the USA and I just wonder, what's wrong with the picture, back there.

Did somebody slip something in the drinking water?

Don't parents teach their children who Grandpa really is?

Can a 3 year old child tell the teacher, "That ain't my Grandpa"?

Do people just get drunk or drugged and walk into little people's schools and say, "I'll take that one, over there".  "Yup, the one with hair on his head, givum here. I'm the boy's Grandpa today".

A long time ago, I remember people used to have something like, personal responsibility and pretty much made sure everybody in the family knew each other. Are we entering a new era?

Is one of those Pro Bono Lawyers (Pro Cher sounds cool, too) getting ready to jump on this case?

Any chance this Grandpa could get a cut of the money that might be awarded the poor parents?

Do me a favor, please. After you've attempted to digest the story, tell me, "What's wrong with that Picture"?

Shot Myself Today !

This isn't what I usually do but it was freezing cold outside and

I was trapped indoors.  I felt like a wild animal must feel stuck in a cage.  So, I took my cameras to my office and practiced shooting myself.

Really, I'm not into doing studio shots or any kind of indoor photography but, unfortunately, I have to.  It's part of this school I'm involved in and if I don't finish all my homework and graduate this year there's no telling what they might do to me.

Can they still drag you up in front of the whole class and whack your fanny with the BOARD OF EDUCATION?

That probably got outlawed in the last century, but, I'm not sure because I haven't been back to the USA in awhile.  I hear they have lots of lawyers making people behave and if anyone hurts you they promise to get you millions of dollars as long as you'll split it with them 50/50.

Somebody told me a fat lady spilled her coffee in her lap at a Drive-thru joint and got Six Million Dollars.  Is that true?

Well, anyway, I'm a Grandpa and I don't think I should have to do homework unless it's something that interests me.  Portraits, advertising, and fashion; they're all things I have to shoot to graduate from the professional camera school.  I'll do what I have to do and get it done.  And when I do, I'll go get my....

Millions the hard way, I'll work for them!
