Mad Mike's Review: Here's A Guru Contact to Fix Your PC FREE !

YA HU HU HU, I FOUND A FREE PC GURU !

There are way too many photography programs, files and other doohickeys installed on my poor old workhorse Windows PC's for me to just throw them out in the street.

Even though I overextended myself a tad buying that Apple machine I like the way it keeps running without any interference from the Microsoft thugs.

An Apple guy, or gal, comes in every night, cleans the MAC and updates stuff while I'm sleeping.

Windows thugs are always waiting 'til I'm trying to do something important and throw stuff in my PC's to slow them down.

Then, when I decide I want to shut down and go home they say stuff like

"DO NOT TURN OFF THE POWER WE ARE INSTALLING SOMETHING".

And I usually say something like, "______ YOU !   I PAID FOR THIS COMPUTER".

EMPEROR BILLY GATES CAN'T TELL ME WHEN I CAN AND CAN'T GO HOME.

I DON'T WORK FOR NO DICTATORS.

Anyway, to make a long story short, I'm going to keep using the PC's I bought from the Windows thugs until they melt down because I have so much invested in software I installed on them.

In the past I have had some malware bugs, had to buy programs to gobble up worms and even did a Mad Mike's Review on REGISTRY MECHANIC.

With Registry Mechanic, Spy Doctor, and McAfee I managed to keep things running.

All of a sudden, a new year rolls around and everybody wants their annual fees.

GROAN

Well, one of my PC's just locked up on me yesterday while I was trying to shut it down.

It was three hours SHUTTING DOWN and wouldn't quit.

So, I yanked out the power cord, flipped the laptop over, ripped out the battery and got it to shut off !

Have no fear.  I'm a patient sort of individual.

For the whole three hours the stupid thing wouldn't quit shutting down, I was on the MAC doing my research.

For every problem a Windows PC can have there are hundreds of people just like that

EMPEROR BILLY GATES

They want you to sign up, login, give your email address, try this free program so we can fix your Windows PC, install some more bugs and sell you the NEW IMPROVED VERSION OF OUR SPECIAL SUPER BUG CLEANER.

THEY WANT TO BE EMPEROR ENTREPRENEURS, TOO !

THE GURU TO CONTACT AT YAHOO ANSWERS:

GREGG DESELMS

Now, the problem I linked you to was for Windows is getting stuck at "Shutting Down" screen.

But, read the whole article and you'll find FREE FIXES FOR ALL KINDS OF STUFF.

What I did was tune up both my PCs with the things I found there and they're screaming, now.

Read  Gregg's profile and email him if you'd like.

The best kind of Guru to contact is one that's free.

This Guru gets a five star Mad Mike's Review from me !

How-to Take Winning Screenshots With No Hassles Whatsoever

This post was inspired by many people asking me how to do a screenshot.

Trust me, I am not the brightest light on the Xmas tree when it comes to computers.

My MACS for DUMMIES book just taught me this the other day.

Push SHIFT, COMMAND and NUMBER 3 all at the same time.

The computer makes a CLICK noise just like a DSLR CAMERA.

And, the Screenshot, which is really a JPEG photo, shows up on your monitor.

Windows PC's are a little different.  You can go to Windows HELP and try what they tell you but, I could never understand all the hi-tek talk they use so, I went to this place.

AND GOT SCREENHUNTER 5.1 FOR FREE !

What you see when you double click the Screenhunter 5.1 installed on your desktop is pictured in the photo above.  I always set mine so it's on STANDBY and single hotkey F6.

So, when I'm ready to snatch a screenshot, I just press CTRL and F6 and the thing snaps a shot CLICK and a little window pops up asking me if it's alright to save it on my desktop.

So, I say "OK".  And that's what it does, after I push the OK button.

Here's a screenshot of SOPHIE'S WORLD

Always give credit (Links are best) to anyplace you take screenshots from, or you could wind up in big trouble.  Some people, such as myself, don't take kindly to thievery.

Another hint: It's best to set your browser window to fullscreen before you take the screenshot.

SPLICE TODAY COMES TO MY OFFICE DAILY

Take fullscreen shots, so you have room to edit them later.

I'm hoping that NEWSMAN OVER THERE DON'T MIND MY EDITING.
.
He could take me to court, but probably, already knows, I ain't got no money.

Jim over at HOLES IN MY SOLES well, he knows how it is these days being a cameraman.

After I took this screenshot, I cropped and sharpened it a bit so I can go back and read it later.

SCOTLAND HERE AND NOW

Once you know how to shoot screenshots it's important to learn about filing them.

They will have real long names like, Screenshot, or ScreenHunter_01, 02 May, 18 13:54 .

Before the month is out your whole dashboard will be cluttered up with screenshots and you won't be able to see clearly anymore.  So, get them off the monitor and stick them in  folders.

GOYA REPUBLIC

It's a lot easier to find stuff when you rename the file something like Goya Republic.
Cut and Paste it into a Goya, Scotland, Holes, Splice or Sophie Folder.  Or, a Nov 2011 Folder.
Then, it's easy to find if you ever need it again.

Doc, I didn't want to leave him out of this demonstration.  So, here he is adding some color and contrast to my blog post today.

Learn how to take winning screenshots on your computer because I'm looking at how to celebrate the 750,000th view on this blog. A screenshot of the event may determine the winner.
Standby for more.....

Visit the links to my screenshots above and give them a thumbs up, that's what I do !

Photo Essay: Look Out World RyukyuMike's Doin Stuff with iMac !

It ain't been a full 24 hours, yet but, I just have to show everybody this nifty machine I bought yesterday.

It came in this cardboard box with a convenient carrying handle so, I guess you could consider it a laptop if you have a really big lap.  It isn't all that heavy.
After I pulled it out of the box and set it on the bar, I found all these goodies inside.  I just grabbed the stuff I needed to get the thing running and read part of one book so I could get online quick.

Maybe, someday I'll check and see what else I might need to know and maybe, I won't.  Always busy...
Within 10 minutes (no kidding) the iMac was up and running.  Just plug in the power cord and flip the switches on the mouse, keyboard and the back of the machine and it lights up blasts an Apple Tune, or something at you.  Then you're in business. Hah, I didn't even get a guru to help me !
There are some symbols and language I have to learn because Windows and Mac ain't the same but, I think the Apple folks are going to make my life easier.  They put the keyboard in clear plastic wrap so, when I spill coffee or drop a lit cigarette on it I can probably do something before the "S" key melts, like it did on my last brand new computer.  REF: RANT: PLASTIC TYPING KEYS

I like the big stand this computer sets on.  It's just a pain hauling those cement blocks into the bar whenever it's too hot for flipflops under my Windows laptops.  REF: REDNECK COOLING TOWER

The Apple guys gave me enough stuff to build a dehumidifier locker for my cameras, too.  They even included two bags of desiccant, free.  I'll be storing all my cameras and lenses there for awhile.

It's a fairly good-sized box.  I just hope the missus doesn't get any ideas about making a suitcase out of it.

Now, you know, I don't rush into doing Mad Mike's Reviews on anything.  So, I'll be doin lots of stuff on this iMac before I'm ready to compare it with those two Windows guys.

So far, I did like the way iMac was easy to set up and I love the box it came in !
