Butterfly Photo: Kabamadara (Anosia crysippus) from Okinawa

This butterfly is called a Kabamadara in Japan.

Anosia crysippus came from a poster in the Ryugujo Butterfly Garden Motobu Okinawa.

That's where I shot this photo, using camera flash.

There seems to be some dispute among the scientific community over these critters.

Some folks call them Orange Tigers, others Plain Tigers.

There's no sense in getting involved in an argument over some butterfly.

So, I'll just call them Kabamadara.

When the scientists get everything straightened out, I'll let you know.
