It's Travel Photo Thursday today.
Just for the heck of it, using the minimum amount of words, I'd like to know what your favorite mode of transportation is, and why.
There are lots more ways to travel besides boats and planes but, I want to narrow it down to just these two choices for now.
That's mostly because there must be 300 or more Happy Holidays (unread) emails waiting in my inbox. And that was just the first email account I checked. The other four accounts will have to wait until after the New Year because I'm unbelievably swamped at the moment
If you had to choose between the boat and the plane which would you take ?
Me. I'd take the boat.
Why ?
I can swim.
NOW, IF YOU'LL EXCUSE ME, I HAVE SOME IMPORTANT STUFF TO DO.
Stop by Budget Travelers Sandbox and visit TRAVEL PHOTO THURSDAY.
LadyE gets excellent travel photos from around the globe for you to enjoy and posted some Christmas scenes from Thailand that'll knock your socks off.

absolutely plane. I get extremely sea sick on ocean/sea boats.
Denise,
Guess you have no option. I wonder if seasickness is something you get over with frequent boat travel, though
Plane. I'd get there faster and treading water is my downfall.
Mary,
Interesting responses, so far. I guess, I look at things differently. See, I figure if something went wrong with my transportation and I had to jump off, in a hurry, it'd be a lot more fun to hit the water from a boat than a plane !
Mike, you know me by now...I like boats if they are not long distance. It's hard to take good outdoor photos when you are on the plane.
Plus, they don't pat you down like they do on air planes...lol
Ryukyu Ru
Boats, trains, bikes, cars, feet - even planes... whatever gets me there. That's an interesting, futuristic-looking boat, though. Happy Christmas, Mike :)
RyukyuRu,
Sounds like you were standing in the wrong pat-down line.
Sophie,
Yup. We have some fancy, high speed ferries over here. They even have tatami rooms and TV.
Happy Holidays back at ya !
Gotta be planes for me Mike, ever since the unsavoury incident aboard an English channel ferry back in 98 I've never quite trusted those floaty things.
Have a Happy Christmas
Ryan,
Looks like plane people are outvoting boat people.
Happy Christmas to you and yours, too !
For the short distances I prefer the ships, I like to admire the landscape. But for long distances, the plane is for me the best way to travel.
I'm a scuba diver so I vote for boat since it's been a boat that has taken me to some of the most remote and amazing dives I've ever done.
Would be a boat for me..Perhaps I'd bring along my fishing rod, and a life preserver, as I really can't swim..(I can catch fish though!)
For me, the choice of boat, plane, train or car depends on which offers the best way to get from here to there.
Well, the answer depends. If I want to get there quick and efficiently, I'd take the plane. If I was just get there slowly and possibly enjoy some sun light, I'd take the boat. But really, if I could, I'd drive - I love road trips. BTW, that's a nice colorful boat you captured.
Planes unless it's somewhere I can travel to with my sea kayak.
As long as I get where I'm going I don't care. However, If I had to choose between a plane and a boat, I'd take the boat. Love the water and the ability to move around.
Merry Christmas, Mike!
Muza-chan, Laurel, Betty, Dick, Sherry, Leigh and Nancy, Whew, hope I didn't miss anyone. Happy Holidays to you all.
