Imagine an Island Without.....

Imagine an island without

Automobiles

Buses

Convenience stores

Drugs

Electricity

Frappuccino

Golf courses

High heel shoes

Internet service

Jellybeans

Keyboards

Luxury

Manufacturers

Nightclubs

Operas

Politicians

Quacks (same as above and some doctors, too)

Roads

Supermarkets

Television

Unions

Voters

Waste

X, Y and Z are missing.  I bet the wife's dog ate them.

Anyway,  just imagine an island without all those trimmings.

Okinawa, Japan has about 100 islands like that and I want to go see them all.

Could you live on an island without all that stuff ?

The picture is nice but you lost me at no jellybeans. ;)

Average Traveler,
See, it was early in the morning. Coffee hadn't kicked-in yet. Trying to come up with an alphabetical list, jellybeans popped into my head when I got to the letter "J". Hope I didn't offend any jellybean growers, er nuthin. Then, I went and got the dictionary. That made the rest easy, until I got to the part where the dog ate the last few pages !

I can do without the politicians!

InsideJourneys,
But, then you'd have nobody to give your tax money to !

Easy Hiker, That's the plan, every chance I get, go escape to a new one.

Muza-chan, I bet there are a few up in the part of Japan you visit. Aren't you into island-hopping ?
It's fun !

Jim,
"No xemes, yaks or zebras" LOL, I don't really need to buy a new dictionary as long as I have you around. Thanks. I've heard of 2 outta the 3 but, what's an xeme ?

Don't think I could on it but I could sure spend some time on an island like that. Nice post.

Now, see, I like opera. And keyboards (both on the computer and the piano). And high heels and even a bit of luxury. Nonetheless, a few days without any of it on a Ryukyu Island would be fab.

ps I was going to suggest no xenon gas, the little xemes are kinda cute.

What a beautiful photo! But to answer your question -- I don't think I could live without some of those things, but I'd like to try it out for a while.

Anonymous,
Let's rent a boat next time.

RyukyuMike said...

Denise, Aw, sure you could.
Leigh, Thanks. I bet you'd enjoy it. At least for a little while.
Sophie, Now that I think of it, those islands are luxuries !

A few days...YEP...then I have to get back to my boyfriend...Lenova and he need electricity and an Internet connection :)

Beautiful shot.

Nancie,
The electricity is one thing, I think we all need these days. Not to worry, before long we'll all have some solar-powered gadgets or old fashioned hand cranks to fire our gear up.

Cathy,
Sure you could. Try it sometime just for a few days!
